Level One - The Innate Path

10 Week Local Psychedelic Practitioner Training

We believe the best psychedelic practitioners are those deeply committed to their own healing and the inner knowing that comes from that practice. That's why our training is fully experiential — you'll learn our model from the inside out, as a client going through the process yourself.

What to Expect

  • Day 1 – Theory & Framework: We cover the core concepts behind our model, including somatic theory, parts work, trauma and the nervous system, transference, and how we use psychedelics therapeutically.

  • 5 Ketamine or Cannabis-Assisted Sessions: Each participant receives 5 personal medicine sessions (2 hours each), witnessed by 1–2 peers who learn by observing.

  • Session Debriefs: After each session, a trainer breaks down what happened — the interventions used, the reasoning behind them, and how it all connects to the model.

  • Regular Process Groups: Every few days, the cohort meets with a trainer to discuss personal experiences and deepen understanding of the model.

More Information About Us and Our Model

Space-holding vs Therapy

Many trainings offering this type of work are teaching space-holding - how to keep the space safe for a client who is engaging in large amounts of medicine. This training is different because we are actively engaged with each client, offering therapy while they are on the medicine. We have found that while the medicine helps open doors, actively engaging in a therapeutic model helps the client walk through those doors and access depths of healing that might be missed without this engagement. If you are wanting to do actual therapy while holding a medicine-assisted session, then this training is for you.

Sessions Held by Seasoned Therapists, Not Fellow Trainees

At Innate Path, the trainers hold all the sessions for trainees. We believe it is important to both experience and witness the model from people who have been engaging with it for many years so that you can experience the depths to which these sessions can take you. Therefore, trainees don’t have to worry about a ‘newbie’ holding a session - they can feel confident in their guide.

Somatic Therapy

Many people use psychedelics to help talk therapy reach a deeper level. Innate Path therapists have seen that trauma is held in the body, and in order to let go of it, we need to work with the body. Therefore, our model is rooted in somatic psychotherapy, and we work directly with the body to help clients release the traumas that have been holding them back.

Dissociation

Dissociation has a bad rap in the therapy world. Dissociation oftentimes shows up as confusion, dizziness, or fuzziness - experiences that bring someone out of the present moment. Most therapists shy away from dissociation, thinking it’s a bad thing, and encourage their clients to come back to the present moment. At Innate Path, we recognize that dissociation is actually a symptom of trauma, and that in order to clear it, we need to go toward it. Even though we’ve been working this way since 2018, it’s unfortunate to see that this is still a revolutionary way of thinking in the therapy world. We have a completely different orientation toward dissociation that allows us to both offer and experience the deepest emotional work we’ve e ver encountered.
